How does web owners gain money from the webs they create, "the commercialized webs with free access like facebook, gambianow and so on,with exception of the charged and the advertising webs"?
This question may seem absurd but I'm very curious and thinking of creating one in near future.
THANKS

Web sites can only make money if someone is prepared to pay. Advertising funds the big sites like Facebook and Google and these are essentially the same as television, radio and newspapers. There really is no difference between the newest of media and outlets that are centuries old.
Other sites rely on selling something, and again this is nothing different from non internet enterprises. You have to advertise, have stock, buy and sell - everything you will see in a local shop.
Some sites, such as ebay, are good for individuals and small businesses because you don't have the overheads of setting up a site yourself. I don't think most people using ebay expect to be rich; there are few fast bucks in this world.

Thanks so much for your controbution to this...
To my dismay, currently one spaniard is sommon to pay €5million of fine for creating a web that is resposible for illegle down loading of millions of copies of CDs.
Therefore, if he doesn't charge those who visit the site to down load how could he gain then?

Most of these sites allow peer to peer transfers. In other words the music (or films) are not posted on the site itself. Renting web space is not expensive if you do not need much space or bandwidth and since there is no illegally held material on there it is above the law. Or so they thought! I am not sure what goes on with these sites because I have never wanted to download music legally or otherwise. I suspect the creators wanted to fund their activities throught sponsorship or advertising. Instead some have ended up in prison.
Possibly this is a too harsh for ripping off an industry that has been overcharging us for a long time, but I do have sympathies with the artists who often have not benefitted from the money paid for their music as much as they should have.
