Gambia News : Teenage Mother Caught After Dumping Baby

As baby dumping once again threatens to rear its ugly head, The Point has gathered from dependable sources that a 15-year-old girl of Wellingara village in Kombo North was last Thursday reportedly caught in an attempt to kill her newly-born baby.
According to the sources, the 15-year-old girl (name withheld) reportedly threw her newly-born baby in a toilet on 1st November shortly after giving birth to it. Sources say the girl’s move was in a desperate attempt to get rid of the baby.
According to Olimata Bojang, the mother of the girl, she was not in the know that her daughter was pregnant. She informed this paper that it was in the morning of Thursday that the daughter informed her that she was going to the toilet.
“When she emerged from the toilet, I heard a child crying inside the latrine,” she related, adding that another lady, who also went to the same toilet, came back running to say that she had heard the cry of a baby inside the toilet.
“We called the Fire and the Ambulance Services who later retrieved the child. The child was treated and is still alive,” she added.
Meanwhile, at the time of writing this piece, the 15-year-old girl was still under police custody.

- come to think of it sometimes is not the guys fault is the gals fault cause u know that if u have sex u will get pregnant and that u still a teenager while allow someone else ruin your life for u. teenagers should be aware and act responsible to avoid having unwanted pregnancies thats all. cause if the gal had say no, they will never have had sex in the first place.

- I hate guys who make babyz pregnant. How can someone make a 15yrs old gal pregnant. Why cant they treat 'em like their sistaz. De government should enforce a law dat if anybody make a teenager pregnant should face charges for rape and child molestatoin.
