Gambia News : Africell Dream House Winner Not Dead
Barely
two months after being declared winner of the much-talked
about Africell Dream House, the question as to whether Mr.
Alagie Badjie, winner of the house is alive or not,
dominated the past three weeks.
Widespread rumours claimed that Mr. Alagie Badjie, who was
at time of being declared winner of the Africell Dream House
hospitalised at the Royal Victoria Hospital, had passed
away.
This has
however led to several calls and visits by people from
different walks of life including Africell fans, to call
Africell’s head office expressing their sympathy with the
company and Mr. Badjie’s family.
Interestingly enough, The Point yesterday visited Mr.
Badjie at his residence and in an exclusive interview, he
said he is still alive and strong, contrary to the rumours.
According to Mr. Badjie, who has now fully recovered, his
family was shocked and worried about the rumour that he was
dead. “Am not dead. I Am still alive and I thank God for
keeping me alive,” he said.
“I heard
that I was dead. Even the nurses at the hospital tell me
that it is being rumoured in town that I am dead but I
believe those saying so are making a big mistake. God forbid
if I died today, I know it is the will of God and not anyone
else’s will.”
He went
on to thank all those who were behind him most especially
the doctors at the hospital and his family and all Gambians
for the continued support.
Mr.
Badjie also commended Africell for the support noting that
with Africell every thing is alright. “It is not because of
the house that I am saying this but because of the company’s
contribution to nation building”.
“It went
to the extent that people were querying whether I was dead
or not. God’s time is the best. If people say that I am dead
whilst I’m alive, I believe that is just to be regarded as a
rumour,” he concluded.
