Sori Manneh, a driver in Brikama was on Wednesday arraigned before Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate EF Mbaye on charges of road obstruction, contrary to Motor Traffic Act, Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of the offence, Sori Manneh on May 10, 2007, in Brikama town, parked a vehicle at a place that's said to be a no-parking-area.
When the charge sheet was read, he plead not guilty.
Musa B Njie, a Police Mobile Traffic Officer attached to Brikama Police Station, testified that the accused was carrying passengers, and parked the vehicle at no-parking point.
He revealed that the accused was warned on several occasions on related cases, adding that "the accused person even has another case still hanging."
The accused objected to the testimony of the police, saying that he was caught at his compound gate.
The second witness, first class 473, Lamin Bojang, in his testimony made similar assertions. The case was then adjourned for May 23, for continuation. Police Prosecutor, Sergient Njie represented the IGP
