Gambia: Judge Raises Concern Over Inmate's Condition

Justice S.M Monageng has raised concern over the health of one Buba Ceesay, who is currently on trial before her court.

The High Court Judge made this point on Tuesday, April 24th, when the inmate appeared before her.


Ceesay looked frail and weak, moving his legs abnormally.

Justice Monageng brought it to the notice of a medical prison officer, Bakary Kujabi, widely called Wharf, that Mr. Ceesay's health is deteriorating anytime she sees him.

"I am really concerned. What is happening in the prison? This man has been coming to my court and he is going down and down," the Judge said.
