Gambia News : Gambian President receives new Iranian envoy

gambia Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has received the newly-appointed Iranian Ambassador to the Gambia, Jahanbash Hassan Zadeh, government sources in Banjul revealed to PANA Friday.

After presenting his credentials to the Gambian leader at State House, Zadeh told journalists that Gambia and Iran had cultivated "excellent relations" since President Jammeh assumed office in 1994.

He said the two countries enjoyed fruitful cooperation in many fronts, adding that "a high-powered economic delegation from Iran will soon visit the Gambia to verify and examine further areas of cooperation in agriculture, investment and industry, as well as metro chemical oil and gas."
