Gambia News : Gambia's electoral body fixes date for by-election

gambia Gambia's Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has set 18 December for by-election in Nianija constituency.

The electoral body said in a statement received by PANA on Friday that nominations would be received on 4 December while campaigning would be from 6-16 December.

The by-election is the result of the dismissal of the occupant of the seat, Dawda Manneh from the ruling party, the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) over drug trafficking charges.
