Gambia News : Gambia’s population commission embarks on sensitization of new policy

gambia  The Gambia’s National Population Commission under the office of the president has embarked on a nation-wide sensitization campaign on a new population policy, APA learns here Monday.

Holding a day-long consultation over the week-end on the new policy for local government councillors from the Kanifing Municipality and the Banjul City Council, the head of the Commission’s task force, Ebou Jallow said “the objective is to gather public opinion and views on the new policy.”

Jallow added that the policy highlights the importance of national census in pointing to trends in the country’s socio-economic development for the purposes of planning for various sectors like education and health.

Amongst the speakers at the sensitization forum was the mayor of the Kanifing Municipal Council, Yankuba Colley, who stressed the importance of the policy for national development.

  • I was so happy when I see the face of my belove th brother Ebou Jallow on this paper to learn that he was in the Gambia that I can't believe because I dont believe that he was in the country without his family knowing about it is very hard to believe
