Gambia News : Iran, Gambia enjoying bilateral ties, says Ambassador
The Iranian Ambassador to the Gambia, Mr. Saeid Zare, has said that the bilateralties between his country and the Gambia had been of the highest level for many years, with unlimited scope for expansion to the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
Speaking here on Wednesday at the opening of a three-days senior management training workshop for the staff of the ministry of agriculture and the newly-established department of agriculture, funded by the embassy, Ambassador Zare Iran said the relationship was promoting peace and stability in both countries.
On economy, Zare said the ties had accounted for the huge investments by Iranian businessmen in the Gambia, especially in the fields of agriculture and technology.
He disclosed that Iran had recently launched some new investment projects in some West African countries, including Gambia.
Declaring the training open, the Gambian deputy minister of Agriculture, Modou S. Kah, noted that the training was designed to enhance the capacity of the senior management officials in the ministry.
