Gambia News : Italian city's mayoress arrives Banjul

gambia The lord mayoress of Milan, Italy, Madam Letizia Moratti , arrived here Wednesday night as a special guest of the Banjul City Council. Madam Moratti said the aim of her visit was for the city of Milan to partner wit h Banjul and also to strengthen the friendship between the two councils.

She said the two councils, through the partnership, would look at the challenges and opportunities of both to facilitate a fruitful relationship.

She disclosed that official signing of the partnership would be done in Milan in due course, during which her council would invite the lord mayor of Banjul.

The deputy mayor of Banjul, Winston Shyngle, who received Moratti on arrival, sa id the partnership between the two councils would form a milestone in the founda t ion of a strong networking alliance.
