Gambia News : Visiting Burundi leader takes part in a football match in Gambian capital

gambia The president of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, who is on a state visit to The Gambia, on Saturday took part in a football match at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, about 12 kilometres outside Banjul, the Gambian capital.

In the friendly football match played between a government selection; comprising cabinet ministers and other senior officials, and a selection from the private sector, President Nkurunziza, who played for the government side, scored the first goal of the match. His team won the match by three goals to two.

President Nkurunziza arrived in Banjul on Friday on a three-day state visit which is scheduled to end on Monday.
