Gambia News: Swedish Police to Train Gambian Police
The news that the Swedish Government proposes to
send or has already sent a team of their police force to train Gambian
police is welcoming and heartening news indeed.
The
public is grateful for this initiative from the Swedish Government
because the training from the Swedish Police Force will help our police
a great deal by making them a more disciplined and efficient force. It
was reported that the training will be geared towards peace keeping
tactics, but all the same, it should help our police in executing their
duties in the communities professionally.
In recent years the public has been dissatisfied and disenchanted with
the police force due to the attitude of inefficient officers whose
misconduct sometimes a cause for concern. We commend the team of
Swedish police who will be dispatched to The Gambia to help train their
counterparts in The Gambia. We wish them well and a happy stay in the
country.

- What a good news, well i belived it should have been long time ago, teaching our police force about their respobsibilities, not just wearing uniform or maltreating their fellow brothers, well at first,i wish and hope, the swedish police can enlighten them?the importance of speaking and writeing good english?its really disgraceful? listening to some of our officers,in terms of speaking to other nationals, but all they know is about bribery or insult, in our language, well i belived that, this can be a grate help, to our lovely Gambia, and hope our forces can really learn from this?what a disgrace.
