Gambia News : Another Gambian journalist arrested

gambia The news editor of The Point newspaper, Abba Gibba, was arrested Thursday in his office by officers of the Gambian National Intelligence Agency, staff members of the paper confirmed to PANA.

According to their colleagues, the officers walked into the office and picked Gibba who was editing the Friday edition of the newspaper.

No reason had been given for his arrest but it is believed to be in connection with the interview he granted to the BBC on the arrest of his seven other colleagues.

The arrest of Gibba has made the number of arrested Gambian journalists eight, five of them from the Point newspaper.
