Gambia News : Former Gambian president makes unscheduled visit to trade fair
The former Gambian president, Sir Dawda Jawara, on Saturday made an unscheduled visit to the on-going 4th International Trade Fair at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, some 11km from Banjul.
During the low key informal visit, he was taken round the various stalls after which he answered questions from the press telling them his impression.
Jawara intimated that he had gone round the stalls and seen some progress compared to previous years as he had visited the trade fairs held before this year’s.
He said this makes him hope that there will be more progress when the fair is held again.
He also added that such developments bring progress, for if every month some progress is registered in national development then there can be more progress for the country.
The former leader urged all concerned from the chamber of commerce, the organisers, to the exhibitors, including foreign ones, to keep up the good work.

- This old fart could have shown a good example by allowing for a change of leadership instead of ruling for 32 years and now Jammeh is just continuing the tradition...we could have had at least 3 different presidents!! What a wasted opportunity...
