Gambia News : President Koroma ends 3-day working visit to Gambia

gambia President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone Sunday ended a three-day working visit to the Gambia, where his counterpart, Yahya Jammeh, had decorated him with his country's highest honour, Grand Commander of the Republic of the Gambia, the state-run Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) reported.

According to the report, Koroma thanked Gambians and their leader for the "warm reception" and hospitality accorded him and his delegation.

He said during Sierra Leone's civil war, many of his compatriots sought refuge in the Gambia, and therefore commended Gambians for "opening their doors" saying, "a friend in need is a friend indeed."

The Sierra Leonean leader further described his visit as "home coming" and invited his host, President Jammeh, to return the visit.

The Gambian leader was quick to accept the invitation and went on to buttress the need to strengthening bilateral ties between the two states.
