According to sources, Gambia's electoral body, IEC, in collaboration with Canada-based firm CODE and ZETES PASS Company are busy demonstrating the biometric voting system to Gambians as a prelude to the launch of the project.
Mustapha Carayol, IEC's Chairman, is said to have hailed the biometric voting system as a means of ensuring 'credible election.'
'The use of biometrics for automatic duplication, verification and authentication at the point of registration is the best solution in ensuring conduct of free, fair and transparent elections,' Carayol noted.
