Gambia News: Man Charged for Assault

gambia Ebrima Leigh, was on Monday arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo, on charges of assault, thereby causing him actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 228 of the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of the offense, on 6 July 2007 , at Bakoteh village, in the Republic of The Gambia, Ebrima Leigh, unlawfully assaulted one Bakary Sillah, by knocking him on his forehead, and caused him actual bodily harm.

When the chargesheet was read to him, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

However, he was granted a bail in the sum of D30,000, and a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to Tuesday 28 August for hearing.
