Gambia : Susan Waffa-Ogoo Removed

gambia The president of the republic of The Gambia, Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, has relieved Mrs Susan Waffa-Ogoo of her cabinet appointment with effect from yesterday.

The president was acting under powers conferred on him by section 71(4) B of the Constitution of The Gambia. Mrs Ogoo’s removal was contained in a press release from the Office of the President

Mrs Waffa-Ogoo’s exit comes at a time she was serving as Secretary of State for Trade and Employment.

She is one of the longest-serving Secretaries of State in the second republic, having served in the cabinet since 1994 as Tourism and Culture, Water Resources and Fisheries Secretary of State.
