Gambia News : Gambian Muslims to mark Eid-el-adha on Friday

gambia The Supreme Islamic Council (SIC) of the Gambia Wednesday announced that Eid-el-adha, commonly known as Tobaski, would be celebrated on Friday, PANA reports.

The council urged all Muslim Ummah to pray on that day.

President of the Supreme Islamic Council, Alhaji Mahamadou Lamin Touray, said they received information throughout the country regarding the sighting of the moon last week.

Touray said the feast would be observed on Friday 'which falls on the 10th day of 'Banna', a month when Muslims observe Eid-el-adha.

He called on Muslims to pray for the good of the country and for the sick on that day.

  • although i am an english i love reading about gambia as i have been in the gambia many times and will be back in 18 weeks 5 days but who,s counting i have travelled all over africa and find this is the place i enjoy the most hearing about .
