Gambia News : Gambian leader calls for cooperation amongst African leaders

gambia President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia on Friday said it was the duty of the new breed of African leaders to work together to liberate Africa from the shackles of poverty and under-development.

President Jammeh as speaking during a banquet organized on behalf of his visiting guest, the Burundian leader Pierre Nkurunziza at the Kairaba Beach Hotel in Kololi, about 15 kilometres outside Banjul, the Gambian capital.

President Nkurunziza, who arrived in Banjul on Friday for a three-day official visit, expressed gratitude to President Jammeh and the Gambian people for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation.

President Nkurunziza’s visit continues Saturday with visits to various development projects, including a visit to President Jammeh’s home village of Kanilai, about 30 kilometres from Banjul.
