Gambia News : Gambian leader to address UNESCO assembly in Paris
The Gambian President, Yahya Jammeh, will in October be in Paris to
make an address at the forthcoming UNESCO General Assembly, APA learns
here.
This was disclosed to journalists in
Banjul on Thursday by the Secretary General of the UNESCO National
Commission in the Gambia, Mrs. Sukai Bojang after she called on Vice
President Isatou Njie Saidy at her office at State House to discuss the
planned visit.
According to Mrs. Bojang, in accordance with tradition,
the Gambian leader would be among world leaders invited to speak at the
assembly this year. She said the topics featured in such speeches
provide a basis for assembly discussions during the session.
In this connection, Mrs. Bojang said Jammeh would be
speaking about his herbal treatment for illnesses such as HIV/AIDS,
infertility, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes etc.
Mrs. Bojang reminded the journalists that UNESCO being
the UN agency for science and culture and therefore the relevant forum
for any discussions of Jammeh’s herbal cures.

- Jammeh is going to Paris not because of the address before UNESCO Assembly but because he has to see his doctor for the treatment of a medical condition that he is concealing from Gambians. It is an invitation he worked hard to secure.

- As a Gambian I`m praying that Jammeh don`t go because he gonna disgrase all Gambians being the laughing matter if it concerns about aids/hiv case. pls Jammeh don`t go.
