Gambia News : Gambian opposition prepares ahead of 2011
Opposition leader Femi Peters said on Wednesday predicted that the 2011
Presidential election will be 'the mother of all elections' as the
opposition will fight tooth and tail to oust President Yahya Jammeh.
Peters, United Democratic Party (UDP) campaign manager, was
reacting to comments made by Lamin Waa Juwara, a former opposition
leader and now governor of the North Bank Region, that if all goes
well, President Jammeh will win the 2011 Presidential elections by a
landslide.
Waa said in a recent interview that, 'It is my candid
opinion and observation that all being well, President Jammeh will win
the next Presidential elections by a landslide because as of now, there
is no credible opposition to challenge him. We must admit our total
failure.'
The UDP Campaign Manager said if anybody believes that
President Jammeh is going to win the next election with a landslide
victory, that person must be living in a dream-land.
