Gambia News : Gambians reported to be among Libya boat disaster victims
Several Gambians are reported to have been among those who died in
the Mediterranean Sea in the wee hours of Friday when a boat carrying
illegal migrants heading towards Italy from Libya capsized.
According
to the Thursday edition of the Daily Observer newspaper in Banjul, lots
of family members across the country have reported to have lost their
loved ones in the sea disaster. The paper quotes family sources in
Brikama, about 30 kilometres from Banjul that five people were
confirmed to be among the dead from various families. The paper names
some of the dead as Sanusi Sillah from Brikama Sanchaba, Foday Jaiteh,
Bakary Jaiteh and Abdoulie Kanyi all from the same compound in Brikama
Nema.
The paper went on to disclose that Sanusi Sillah was a
nine grade student at the Brikama Upper Basic School while Foday Jaiteh
and Abdoulie Kanyi were former students of Bottrop and Nusrat Senior
Secondary schools respectively. The duo were said to have applied for
entry visas somewhere in Europe twice but were unsuccessful.
The Daily Observer went on to name three other victims
from the village of Sanyang, about 35 kilometres from Banjul as Essa
Dinding Bojang, Lamin Manneh, Ousman Bojang and Basolo, all of whom are
said to be from the same family. The paper said Essa Dinding Bojang is
survived by two wives and children.
Also, the paper said two of the dead came from the
village of Farato, about 24 kilometres from Banjul, giving their names
as Ebrima Dampha and Nyakassi Dampha.
The paper quotes sources as disclosing that this
carnage has caused panic among many families whose loved ones have
recently left the country for the Canary Islands.

- What a poorly mis-managed and mis-led developing nations. Even though, they are blessed with counts resources, their own people on a daily basis are crossing countless dangers seeking greener pastures in developed nations.
They are dyning by crossing dangerous seas and oceans and smuggled by crooks wishing to become rich. In reality, it is the opposite, they are rescuing their own live and running after merage of promises. In reality when they are there, they will be used against each other and abused by the crooks of the multi-national west.
The west is no longer a Democracy, but corrupt and manipulative mobs are making a mockery out of Democracy and the rule of law.
They have turned around Democracy into Demagogue and chaos. They have turned the west into bigotry and racism, instead of law and order. Each tribe is supporting and defending their own people,

It's not always about making a better life. Many that take this trip have family abroad and are being sent either a monthly allowance or some type of support. The trip costs money-it is usually those that have support from somewhere

- my people u got to understand that youth are doing this is bz that, they want to help and make a better life for themselfes and there parents. the only solution to this problem is that the gover should creat jobs opportunity and also good salary.
