Gambia News : Jammeh fires Gambia Deputy Chief of Defence Staff
Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has dismissed Major-General Yankunba Drammeh, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, from Gambia Armed Forces with immediate effect, Gambia Radio and Television Services announced in Banjul on Monday.
A statement from the Office of the President at State House did not give any reason for the dismissal. The statement said he has been replaced by Major-General Ousaman Badjie.
Major-General Drammeh was dismissed late last year and demoted to the rank of Private by the Gambian leader, who is also commander-in-chief of the Gambia Armed Forces, but later reinstated.
