Gambia News : Libyan leader arrives in Gambian capital as guest of anniversary celebrations

gambia Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Qaddafi arrived in Banjul, the Gambian capital on Tuesday evening for a three-day visit during which he will be guest of honour for the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the military take over which brought Gambian president Yahya Jammeh to power.

Colonel Qaddafi, who arrived at the Banjul International Airport with a large delegation, was welcomed by his host President Jammeh and an enthusiatic crowd which lined the road to the airport.

Qaddafi is on Wednesday scheduled to take part in a march past at the Independence Stadium in Banjul with his host as part of the highligts of the celebrations.

He is scheduled to depart Banjul for home on Thursday.
