Gambia News : North Korea presidium head ends three day visit to The Gambia
The President of the Presidium of the Peoples Supreme Assembly of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, Mr. Kim Yong-Nam left Banjul earlier Saturday at the end of a three day working visit to The Gambia.
During the visit, Kim and President Yahya Jammeh held discussions on Friday at State House in Banjul.
The two sides signed a general agreement on cooperation and friendship which set up a joint commission on technical cooperation.
During a banquet in honour of the North Korean official, Vice President Isatou Njie-Saidy said the government of The Gambia was committed to strengthen their cordial bilateral ties, based on a common desire to build a brighter future for their peoples and for humanity in general.
The Vice President added that their two states believe in the principles of “self determination, self reliance, solidarity, equality, justice, partnership and maintenance of international peace and security for the common good of all mankind.”
He commended Korea for achievements in structural and industrial growth and for becoming a powerful and industrial member of the comity of nations. He also spoke in support of the spirit of south-south cooperation for reasonable growth and development for the mutual benefit of their two peoples.
Kim Yong-Nam said despite the vast distance separating the two countries, they in Korea were aware of the success stories of the Jammeh administration in development.
