Gambia News : Opposition seeks political alliance with Gambia's ruling party
The leader of the Opposition Gambia People’s Democratic Party (GPDP), Hendry Gomez, has written to President Yahya Jammeh, seeking political alliance with the ruling APRC party. In the letter, a copy of which was made available to PANA Monday, Gomez stated that his request followed APRC's increasing popularity in the country.
“I wish to salute your courage, vision and purposeful moves and the positive steps you have taken since becoming the chief executive, commander-in-chief and president of our great nation - The Gambia - in 1994," Gomez wrote in his letter.
He added "Though I have been in the opposition party, I have watched with keen interest your noble steps at uniting the nation.
"These are my submission about your person, your party and some of your followers."
The next presidential election in the Gambia will be in 2011.

- That is a disaster, a mis credit and a degeration ON ALL fellow Gambians, what undaunted, primitive
so-called Democracy in the Gambia, between a Bulgar and the Goose. Hendry is nothing in Germany but a Street Cleaner, its really a shame.

- There exist a Jola-christian conspiracy against the Gambian people and Mr. Gomez is just playing his role. Why be in the opposition if you are so impressed by this ape? Men like Mr.Gomez deserve to be hanged publicly. I know very few Gambians that deserve respect today because almost everybody has become Jammeh's griot. Moral values do not exist and whenever i read the daily observer, I start to think that we deserve Jammeh.

- Hallo to all readers and Gambian at home and abroad,we again say thank GOD for hearing our prayers, for the release of Mr Sallah and hope others will follow soon.
But my next comment goes to this untalented man you people or many are calling politician Gomez.
First i would like to tell this mr gomez to go back to school and sit in the classes or with the students or pupils of maybe Grade 11 with my son to first lern how to write a normal letter, cus if these are his words: I QUOTE FROM LETTER:
I wish to salute your courage, vision and purposeful moves and the positive steps you have taken since becoming the chief executive, commander-in-chief and president of our great nation - The Gambia - in 1994," Gomez wrote in his letter.
He added "Though I have been in the opposition party, I have watched with keen interest your noble steps at uniting the nation.
"These are my submission about your person, your party and some of your followers."
The next presidential election in the Gambia will be in 2011.
No politician in any interlectual plattform will start a letter with,I wish to salute your courage,ok fool, moreover writting to the president of a nation.
And this shows me how far mr gomez thinking capacity is or goes,in using words like:I have watched with keen interest your noble steps at uniting the nation.
And the problem goes far beyond gomez,we have people sitting in our high offices and government post alike, who cant even
speak normal written english nor write a simple letter.
So spare me these names or title like politician and interlects, and wonder that most of them dont even know read or what the Gambian constitution is or stands for.
Sad that we always have these oppertunist called politicians.
lo lu la bul fa leh!
