Gambia News : President Jammeh sacks Energy Minister

gambia Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh has sacked Energy Minister Sira Wally Ndow-Njie, according to a statement from the Office of the President Wednesday.

According to the statement, Ousman Jammeh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Relations and Gambians abroad, has been reassigned as Minister of Energy.

Also, the President Jammeh has reassigned Dr. Momodou Tangara, the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Relations and Gambians abroad.

'The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology has been transferred to the Office of the President,' the statement further said.

Ndow-Njie, who was appointed Minister in December 2009, was a former Deputy Managing Director of the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC).
