Gambia: Venezuelan Envoy Presents Credentials

President Yahya Jammeh Thursday received at State House Eddy Jose Cordova-Corcega, Ambassador designate of the Republic of Venezuela.

Speaking to journalists shortly after presenting his letter of credence to President Jammeh, Ambassador Cordova-Corcega said his visit to State House was to present his credence to President Jammeh and good wishes from his President, government and people of Venezuela.

According him, he had discussions on issues of bilateral co-operation between the Gambia and Venezuela. "The two states have political will and we are ready to facilitate excellent co-operations in the areas of Health, Agriculture and Education to the pride and joy of the two states as priority areas".

Ever since the Gambia’s suspension from eligibility list of the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Fund last June, President Jammeh has throw all caution to the bin and has allied with world anti-American leaders like presidents Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Ahmadinejad of Iran.
