William West’s Murder Case Deferred As Lawyers and Chief Prosecutor Fail to Appear

Dec 08,2006 by

gambia By Aboulie Nyokeh & Malafie Badjie

The ongoing trial on the murder of William West, involving Kate Atori-West, his wife, and three other suspects, which was set to resume on Monday, 4th December 2006, at the Brikama Magistrates' Court, has again been adjourned for two more weeks.

The case resumed on Monday but could not proceed due to the absence of four lawyers, the Chief Prosecutor ASP Badjie and the four other accused persons.

Senior Magistrate Edrissa M’bai therefore adjourned the case on these grounds.

Meanwhile, the principal accused person, Kate Atori-West, is still said to be under detention at the Mile II Central Prisons.
