Gambia News : Gambia coach confident of victory

gambia Gambia's newly signed coach Paul Put has expressed confi dence the country's national team, Scorpions, will return victorious from Monrovia, Liberia, in their first encounter of World Cup preliminary qualifiers against the Lone Stars of Liberia this weekend.

Put is to lead the Scorpions to their first appearance in the first World and African Nation's Cup in 2010 in South Africa and Angola respectively.

The coach vowed his side will perform well and also win all their matches at home and will surely qualify for their first ever-continental tournament.

In the same development, Gambian President Yahya Jammeh handed over a vehicle an d well furnished apartment to the new coach as his personal contribution toward s Gambia Football Association (GFA) efforts in signing a new coach for the first time with the help of GSM provider, Africell.

In another development, all the country's foreign based players have arrived and all participated in the training over-seen by Put.

The team departed Thursday for Monrovia for the 31 May match.
