Gambia News : Gambia braces up for first-ever visit by FIFA boss

gambia The Gambia Football Association (GFA) is bracing up for the first-ever visit to the Gambia of the president of the world football's governing body, FIFA, Mr. Joseph Sepp Blatter.

Association official Seedy Kinteh said Blatter would visit Banjul at a date yet to be determined to preside over the inauguration of FIFA-funded projects.

Kinteh told journalists here that he met Mr. Blatter during the recent CAF General Assembly in Luanda, Angola, where the FIFA boss re-affirmed his plan to visit Banjul.

'He told me that his arrival date to Banjul will be communicated to us as soon as possible. And during his stay, he will preside over the inauguration FIFA-sponsored projects, including the new Gambia Football House in Kanifing.

''He will also pay a courtesy call on the Gambian leader, Yahya Jammeh, as the chief patron of the GFA,'' he said.
