Gambia : Gambian Boxers to Leave for Dakar

gambia As part of their preparation for the forthcoming Zone II Boxing championship to be hosted in the country, the Gambia Boxing Association (GBA) would be sending Boxers in the Senegalese Capital Dakar to take part in series of friendly bouts.

Speaking to Pointsport, the President of Gambia Boxing Association, Sang Correa said that they have laid many plans to prepare for this major event.

To start with, he added, they would be sending seven boxers to Senegal early next month to fight against their Senegalese counterparts.

He pointed out that the Dakar trip would greatly help them to rectify their weakness before the Zone II Championship in Banjul in April.

Mr. Correa also disclosed that the organising committee of the Zone II Championship would be organising referees and judges course at the Independence stadium in Bakau from March 15th to 30th, 2007.

“We would do every thing possible to make the Banjul Championship a success,” he concluded.
