Gambia News : President Jammeh Presents Over US$ 40000 each to U-17

gambia Each member of the Gambian under-17 national team which won the 2009 African nations cup last week will get one million dalasis (approximately US$ 40, 000) from President Yahya Jammeh.

Jammeh made the pledge at the victory celebrations for the team which emerged African champion after beating hosts Algeria last Thursday.

He made further promises to encourage the Gambian team to be better prepared for the junior World Cup to be held in Nigeria in October.

“We want the World Cup this year and we must have it. By the grace of Allah we will bring the junior world cup to the country,” he said.
