Gambia News : Senegal fires soccer coach Lamine Ndiaye after draw with Gambia

gambia Senegalese national coach Lamine Ndiaye was sacked Monday after visiting Gambia locked hosts Senegal to a disastrous 1-1 draw in the CAN-World Cup joint qualifiers.

As a result, Senegal will stand aloof of international contest for three-year, which sent irate fans in unprecedented vandalism, ransacking shops and cars and mounting roads blocks.

The decision was made by the National Normalising Committee (CNF), which was set up a few months ago to pickup Senegalese football after the FA was dissolved.

The just-fired coach is the eighth since 2000.

Ndiaye, who was appointed last February, won two ties, drew four and lost one, stripping the “Teranga Lions” of tickets to Angola and South Africa.

The CNF chose national technical director Amsata Fall as interim coach.

Senegal played in the same group with Algeria, Liberia and Gambia.
