Gambia: Imam Fatty rebuts FGM claim

  • I am a Medical Practitioner but i am definately in line with the imam, let us not always follow anything inpose by the West. They shall never challenge thing to there intrest and we the muslims have to be great thinkers and reasoners cuz the religion is under fire. But ALLAH will guide it. And many of our own peoples are corrupted by devil thing (money)

  • I agree with you . I believe the imam made a mistake by saying that. Its horrible!. It was done to me when i was young and still the pain & anger is with me everyday of why a part of who i am is taken away from me.

  • First of all I have respect for anybody with a religion. I think the honourable Imam is way off when he compares FGM with piercings. Piercings are done out of free will by the person. FGM is done to little girls who have no say if they want FGM or not. That is the whole matter I think. And when he says that people should not talk about this for the better of world peace we hit another matter and that is the freedom of speech which is something that everybody has (or should have)!
