Gambia News : Gambia looks to Vietnam for help with rice cultivation

A Gambian official expressed hopes
Vietnam would send agricultural experts to help the country cultivate
rice to ensure better food security and implement the United Nations
Millennium Development Goal.
Gambian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Omar Alieu Touray was speaking at a reception hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem in Hanoi Wednesday. The officials from both nations agreed to increase expert delegation exchanges in the future. Touray, who began a four-day working visit to Vietnam Wednesday, praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and external policies of diversification and multi-lateralization after 20 years of renewal. He said his government had applied Vietnam ‘s economic renovation model in an effort to improve the economy. During his visit, Touray along with Gambian Secretary of State for Trade, Industry and Employment Abdou Kolley will hold working sessions with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to discuss future cooperation. |
