After 21 days of journey by road, the Amsterdam Dakar-Banjul Challenge 2006 last Thursday arrived in The Gambia with a fleet of vehicles including 40 cars and five motorbikes.

Speaking to The Point last Friday at Dutch Whale Bar and Restaurant and Guest House, Advan Wordragen, a member of the Holland-based NGO, said the cars and motorbikes would be put on auction this week.

He added that the proceeds from the sale of the vehicles would be used to sponsor charity organizations and to build a technical school in The Gambia.

Meanwhile, members of the Amsterdam Dakar-Banjul Challenge yesterday left The Gambia for Holland.
