Gambia News : 76 illegal Gambian migrants deported from Spain

About 76 illegal Gambian migrant deportees arrived at the Banjul
International Airport Tuesday night on board a special flight chartered
by the Spanish government, sources confirmed to PANA here Wednesday.
According to the sources, on arrival, the deportees were received by
the Gambian immigration from their Spanish counterparts and after going
through the immigration process at the old terminal of the airport,
boarded the immigration truck under the security of the Police
Intervention Unit.Gambia's Immigration Public Relations Officer Chief Superintendent Olimatou Jammeh-Sonko confirmed to PANA that her department received 76 young Gambian deportees from Spain Tuesday night. According to Jammeh-Somko, the 76 men were illegal migrants from the Gambia who found their way to Spain through the Canary Island, adding that majority of the deportees are from the rural parts of the country. |
