Gambia News : Gambia embarks on campaign for blood donation

Gambia’s health officials have started a weeklong campaign of ‘National Blood Donor Day Programme’, calling on the general public to don a te blood, health sources here informed PANA Thursday.

The campaign, driven by the country’s main “Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), in collaboration with ‘Gambia Blood Donor Association,’ was meant to sensitize people on the need and importance of donating blood.

“The blood you donate may save any of your family members, friends or even your own life," Baboucarr Ngum, the coordinator of the programme and senior officer at (RVTH), said while encouraging members of the public to positively respond to the call.
