Gambia News : Spanish PM visits Gambia

Dakar, Senegal - Dona Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, the Spanish Prime Minister, and her high-level delegation have arrived in The Gambia for a two-day working visit, authoritative sources told PANA here Monday.

During the visit, Dona is expected to meet with the Gambian leader, President Yahya Jammeh, and the Vice-President, Isatou Njie-Saidy, among other top officials.

Dona is also expected to sign bilateral cooperation agreements with Gambian Vice-President before concluding her visit.

Meanwhile, The Gambia and Spain have signed agreements covering many areas of cooperation, including projects which could create jobs for the youth with a view to discouraging illegal migration between the two countries.
