Briton poised to aid Gambia sports

Anthony Vaughan, a British national is poised to help develop Gambian sports particularly football. Mr Vaughan shows this sign with a presentation of jerseys and other football equipment to Blue Band FC of Bakau. Mr Vaughan who is a regular visitor to the Gambia said he met the club two years ago when he was looking forward to adopting a promising football club, he can assist. “Since then, I have been assisting them with jerseys, trophies, football boots among other items. I had also lobbied for sponsors at Royal Mail in UK to ensure a continuing support for the club,” Vaughan said. As a football fan, Vaughan added, he is very delighted to associate himself with kids that aim to excel in the trade of football. Lamin Colley, an official of Blue Band FC, commended Mr Vaughan and his spouse for their kind assistance to the club. He said: “The couples have been great helpers to our club since we came to know each other two years back.” He promised that the donated items will be put into good use. |
