by Salifu Touray,-One Amadou Sowe, a resident of Bakoteh Layout, has paid D50,000, after found guilty by Principal Magistrate Moses Richards of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, for being in possession of 1.660Kg of cannabis. Police Prosecution Officer, Corporal 870 Touray, on Tuesday told the court that Amadou Sowe had paid a D50,000 fine to the court. Earlier on, Mr Sowe pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against him. In his plea for mitigation, Mr Sowe begged the court for mercy and a chance to reform, saying “I shall never engage in such activities in my life again”. In his ruling, Principal Magistrate Moses Richard observed that Amadou Sowe showed a sign of remorse but warned him to desist from the practice and live a meaningful life. He then sentenced him to a fine of D50,000. |
