Gambia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Omar Touray, has been relieved of his post by President Yahya Jammeh.
The president immediately named Ousman Jammeh, the Minister for Energy and Petroleum, to replace Touray.
According to a press statement, monitored on the Gambian Radio and Television Services, the president gave no reason for dismissing Dr. Touray but merely said he was acting in accordance with the powers invested in him.
Dr. Touray was appointed minister early this year.
