Gambia News : World Taekwondo Federation rewards four Gambians

The Gambia Taekwondo Association presented certificates from the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), Kukkiwon, South Korea, to four black belt holders of the Subac Taekwondo Club at the club's gymnasium in Jeshwang here Wednesday.This was the first time Gambian taekwondo practioners and fighters would be awarded certificates from WTF headquarters in South Korea. The four awardees were Ousman Baldeh, Muhammed T. Dino Tchaffo, Johnny Ghanan and Yamundaw Jobe, a female. Speaking at the ceremony, Jose Goma, the master of the Subac Taekwondo Club and president of The Gambia Taekwondo Association expressed his delight for having trained people who are awarded an internationally recognised certificates from South Korea, the birth place of the art. Muhammed T. Dino Tchaffo, one of the awardees, said the day was a special day for them, because it was a day that witnessed the recording of their names in the catalogue of recipients of WTF certificate, adding that these certificates presented to them are from the heart and birth place of taekwondo. Tchaffo said the award will serve as a memorable symbol of hard-earned achievement and as the first Gambians to receive such award. He thanked the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support. |
