Gambia: Gambia wins exhibition award

The Gambia has won an award for the second best exhibition award in the African region, at the just- concluded International Tourism Exchange (ITB) fair held in Berlin, Germany.According to a press statement issued by the Department of State for Tourism and Culture, through the Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), the criteria for the award include a stand design, quality display of materials and the level of professionalism. The award was coordinated by Collogne Business School and the organisers of International Tourism Exchange (ITB) fair, the press statement noted.

 The press statement further indicated that, 110 stands were evaluated and The Gambia chosen on top of 33 African destinations, including Keneya, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
The International Tourism Exchange (ITB) is the biggest fair in the world, and attracts over 1 million tourism professionals and visitors. The prize was received by the SoS for Tourism and C ulture, Angela Colley, who expressed delight and appreciation over The Gambia’s winning chance.

 She echoed that the prize is an indication that, The Gambia is heading  the right way in tourism, and then congratulated the Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), over what she described as a marketing strategy well- done.
The delegation to the ITB tourist fair in Berlin, Germany included members of the travel and hospitality industry, coordinated by the GTA.
