Sergeant Buba Jammeh of the state guards is still held in incommunicado detention.

Readers could recall that Sergeant Jammeh was arrested in June 2006 following the "Freedom Newspaper Scandal".

While he was initially detained at the National Intelligence Agency Headquarters, his family members were allowed to see him. Family members have expressed concern about the state of health of the detained soldier since he was transferred to the Central Prison in November. They said they were not even informed of his transfer.

These family members indicated that they are still not aware of any charge against Sergeant Jammeh.

According to reports, Freedom Newspaper website was allegedly hacked and subscribers details where published by the Daily Observer newspaper the next day. The Daily observer still hasnt apologised to a lot of compromised innocent Gambians for its unprofessional, unjournalistic & dangerous act of labelling innocent web surfers "informants".
