Gambia: Spanair Schedule Flight Launched

Spanair airline,on wednesday launched its 4 weekly schedule flight to The Gambia at a ceremony held at the Banjul International Airport. The schedule flight is meant to ensure efficient and accessible travelling system between The Gambia and Spain. Speaking to newsmen at the launching ceremony held at the Banjul International Airport,Ricardo R Roda , said that the move came as a result of the increase in the number of passengers travelling from Banjul to Barcelona in Spain. "The introduction of the forth flight will make a year round activity and will decrease the difficulties passengers encounter in getting flights to Spain and other European countries. For his part, Kassim Njie, Gambia's Honorary Counsel in Spain commended the government of The Gambia for allowing Spanair to invest in the Gambia. He described the investment as an opportunity to curb illegal migration a problem disturbing most subsaharan states. Kaliba Senghore, Director General of Gambia Tourism Authority, (GTA) thanked the Spanair for introduction of the additional flight in the country describing it as as good move as it will increase the number of tourist from Spain to The Gambia. He reveals that his institution (GTA) targets to get a million Spanish tourist to The Gambia annually. Miguel Cantalapiedra, Commerical and Production Manager Club Vacaciones, commend the people of The Gambia for their hospitality thus providing a conducive environment for investors, to operate in The Gambia. Other speakers at the ceremony include ,Charbel Hobeika,Managing Director Gambia Tours, Lorenzo Estubinan Spanair representative in The Gambia . |
