Gambia: Kebba Ceesay Abducted By State Security Agents

Kebba Fatty 63 and a senior member of the UDP was today taken from
his home in Brikama by about a dozen men from various state security services including army, police and NIA.The men came in three green vehicles , picked Mr fatty from the street, escorted him to his compound, searched and ransacked his house and then proceeded to do the same to his wives houses in the compound. They confiscated some vedeo tapes and assorted papers and then bundled him into one of the vehicles and speed off. The abdutors refused to state any reason for their conduct despite repeated demands by Mr Fatty and Family members. Accordin to our sources the party leader Ousainou Darboe rushed to NIA headquarters in Banjul but all attempts to see him or even establish his whereabouts proofed futile. Mr Fatty served as a police officer for over thirty years before being summarily dismissed by the
regime following the coup and denied all his benefits. There are indidcations he may have been transported to the interior of the country in attempt to place him
into the defacto Gulag system the goverment now runs where innocent political prisoners are indefinitely shuttled from one detention center to the other even if a court orders them released.Mr Fatty joins many other people who have languised in jails after being illegally arrested.
