A tragic incident occurred last Wednesday when an eight-year-old girl, Neneh Bah of Sinchu Alagie village in Kombo North, fell into a well.

Neneh reportedly went to the well to fetch water for domestic use but accidentally fell into the well dying shortly after being rushed to Fajikunda Health Centre where she was later referred to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The incident, which occurred at a time when both parents of the late Neneh Bah were reported to be at work, has shocked residents of the area.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Point, the late Neneh was asked to attend daara (Arabic School) that morning but she insisted that she would rather do domestic chores for her mother before going to daara.

The deceased was laid to rest in Sinchu Alhagie yesterday afternoon.
